AGM

The Annual General Meeting for The Gap Chess Club Inc. was held tonight.

AGM Minutes 2002

Alas Mr Willcock showed up at 9.35pm just as the AGM had finished thus dealing a fatal blow to his campaign to install a puppet government to run the club. (Last year he campaigned for a surrogate Pu Yi candidacy - or was that Pu Yu?).

Allegro Tournament

A few outstanding fixtures were completed in the wee hours after the AGM finished…

George 1 James 0 (game 2 in their series)

Transfer

Play continued until after 1am tonight with many of those attending the AGM staying until the death. Directly after the AGM everyone stayed on and had a few games of chess. Newcomer Mike Talbot had an interesting duel with James Hiller in a contest that seemed more about the Yankees and the Confederacy than White versus Black. Then conversation veered onto cricket (surprise surprise) until the transfer started around midnight. At this late hour, everyone managed to have their own personal catastrophe on the transfer board (the Hillers more than the others). Andrew, George, Paul, Brian, Mike, Peter and James were still around when stumps were drawn.
